My work

My work is a distillation of my responses to the natural world, the turn of the year, the changing light and weather. Key to this is the landscape where I live and work, surrounded by the woods and fields of north Essex.

About me

I live and work in north Essex, my studio is surrounded by farmland.
During Higher Education I studied Fine Art and became interested in ceramics. My education included a diploma by Independent study, where I concentrated on ceramics. I lived for many years in London, where I made ceramics sporadically, in makeshift studios, while I earned my living working in the building trade, as a plasterer and decorator.
Moving back to my roots, I have for the last few years been a dedicated artist, producing a variety of ceramics, exhibiting in galleries including locations in London, Norfolk, Cambridge and Oxfordshire.

In September 2015 I won the Bruckner Foundation Prize at the Musee de Carouge Biennial ceramic competition in Geneva, Switzerland, for a bone china lampshade. I am a member of the Craft Potters Association and the Anglian Potters.
